Brain Dead x Death Cab for Cutie

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Death Cab for Cutie’s landmark album Transatlanticism, we collaborated with the band on a special T-shirt ahead of their 2024 co-headline tour dates with The Postal Service.

Released in 2003, Transatlanticism earned worldwide applause thanks to an array of high-profile soundtrack placements, and hit singles such as “The Sound of Settling” and “Title and Registration.” Named by NPR as one of “The Decade’s 50 Most Important Recordings,” and by Rolling Stone as one of the “100 Best Albums of the 2000s,” the album was certified Platinum in 2023.

The collaboration goes live at 10AM PT on Tuesday, April 16th at wearebraindead.com, followed by in-store releases for both Death Cab Cutie as well as our t-shirt with The Postal Service from last year at Brain Dead Studios Fairfax, Brain Dead Fabrications, Brain Dead Studios Harajuku, Dover Street London, LA, New York, and Ginza. All physical retailers will have a limited number of signed Transatlanticism and Give Up vinyl LPs as an in-store exclusive.

During the release week, Dover Street Market LA will host a special in-store raffle in tandem with an online raffle for DSM London. A few lucky customers will win signed vintl records plus tickets to Just Like Heaven Festival in Pasadena, CA or All Points East Festival in London, UK where each band will perform their respective album in full as a part of the ‘Give Up’ & ‘Transatlanticism’ 20th Anniversary Tour.
