Brain Dead x Interpol Atiba Jefferson Photo #2 T-Shirt - Black
Details
We are thrilled to expand our Brain Dead x Interpol capsule t-shirt collection to its online release. Made in celebration of Interpol’s gripping seventh studio album The Other Side of Make-Believe, the collection features photos of the band taken by Atiba Jefferson. Renowned photographer and skateboarder, Atiba focused on capturing Interpol’s complex recording process. Beginning remotely in 2020, “Interpol reconvened to flesh out new material at a rented home in the Catskills..” and later North London. Usually one to write live, the newfound quiet helped shape the album to new depths. “For the first time I’m not shouting over a drum kit,” Banks says. “We never felt the need to flip that smoky intimacy into something big and loud when it came to rehearsing and recording. I got a real kick out of doing the opposite.” The band early on has drawn upon inspiration from the likes of serial killers and polish knife wielders to create blissed out narratives of bittersweet rage. But The Other Side of Make-Believe has an exciting evolution and is filled with a complex hope. Banks says “The nobility of the human spirit is to rebound.” Kessler concurs: “The process of writing this record and searching for tender, resonant emotions took me back to teenage years; it was transformative, almost euphoric.”
