Founded in 2008 in London by Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, Mount Kimbie is an electronic music duo that, since its inception, has operated within the spectrum of bass music, contributing to shaping a new formulation of UK dubstep and pioneering the genre’s second wave.
Starting from Peckham in South London, the duo is responsible for the development of the “post-dubstep” genre, marked by their debut EP Maybes in 2009, and expanded through their debut album Crooks & Lovers in 2010. Since then, they released albums and EPs that fostered their position within the experimental music landscape, scoring collaborations with artists such as James Blake, King Krule, Slowthai, and Danny Brown, among others.
To celebrate their recent record The Sunset Violent, Brain Dead teams up with Mount Kimbie to release a special long sleeve t-shirt. The collaborative merch will be available Friday, August 23rd at 10 AM PT via wearebraindead.com, Brain Dead Studios, and Brain Dead Fabrications.
